Janitorial Services - Clean up and Earn Money

Rather than hire their own cleaning crew and purchase cleaning materials, many companies prefer to contract out the work to janitorial companies. It is easy to start your own janitorial company by simply contacting various companies and offering to do the cleaning work they need to a set price. You provide the materials that you need to do the cleaning and the company pays for the service on a monthly basis. When you start this kind of business, you will probably be doing the cleaning yourself, but as you get more contracts you will be able to hire staff to work for you and eventually all you will have to do is secure the contracts and complete the paperwork.

Most janitorial services are performed after working hours when the buildings are empty of employees. The companies that you approach will have to ensure that you are trustworthy, so you will need to have a criminal record check to show them that you will not steal from them or do any damage to the offices. If you are doing this alone, you should start out with relatively small jobs until you get used to the work and are able to hire employees to work for you. You start out with ordinary household cleaners and learn first hand how long each part of the job takes. When you buy the products in multiple quantities, you will get them at a lower cost.

It is not hard to find employees for this kind of work because there are always people looking for extra money. The rate of pay that you have to pay out to your employees is usually minimum wage, but your bid for each project will include higher rates of pay. When you factor in your work, what you have to pay to employees and the cost of the supplies, you always have to include a profit margin. This is where you will make your money, especially of you have employees to do the actual cleaning. You don't even need to have your own office building or warehouse because you can run the business as a home based business with the kitchen table as your desk.

You will need to do paperwork and you do need to have signed contracts from the companies that hire you to work for them. You also need to make sure that the people you hire are trustworthy. You need to keep an account of the amount of money you spend on the business each month and the amount of money that you are paid to ensure that the business is profitable.
