Laundry - Make a Clean Sweep of the Profits

When you hear the phrase "laundry business opportunity", you might think it refers to taking someone's laundry into your home and doing it for them. While this opportunity does exist, especially where both the husband and wife in a family have full-time jobs, you can set up a laundromat with coin-operated washers and dryers. This requires an investment on your part because you have to purchase commercial equipment that is fitted with coin receptacles. You also need to have building to house the equipment where people can go to do their own laundry.

With coin operated washers and dryers, you need to be able to repair the machines when they break down. Sometimes this repair job may simply mean that the coins are blocking the device so it becomes inoperable. You do have to be prepared to do regular maintenance on the machines and to make sure that they are well protected from robbers and break ins. Some people start out by supervising the activities in the Laundromat and offering a service to customers where they do the laundry for a slightly higher fee than the cost of using the machine.

In areas where there are a lot of apartment buildings, you may be able to place your equipment in the buildings and give the owner a percentage of the amount of money that you take out of the machine. The usual commission that you pay out is 40% which saves you money because you do not have to rent or build premises to house the equipment. The supervisor will let you know if any problems arise and all you have to do is tend the machines on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to empty the coin receptacles and take home your profits.

This type of business requires an initial outlay for the purchase of the washers and dryers. If you buy quality equipment, you will not have any expensive repairs and in the meantime, you could make a lot of money. You don't even have to give up your day job to do this because you can tend to the machines in the evenings or on weekends.
