When you start out in the business, you need to take pictures of everything and put the pictures in really nice frames. You don't have to know how to develop the pictures because most photographers send their film to a lab for processing. With the many one-hour photo locations you can easily have the pictures ready the same day.
This is probably one of the easiest business opportunities to take advantage of. You don't need to start out with a studio or even background images. Taking pictures at weddings where the happy couple wants natural and posed pictures is relatively easy to do. Getting the first customers may be the only difficult step in the process. If you have lots of photos to show to prospective clients, you can demonstrate how well you will be able to do the job. If you take videos in connection with the pictures and so both for one price, most people jump at the chance to deal with one person for all their photo needs.
There is usually a shortage of photographers and videographers during the "wedding" season. If you advertise your services and supply examples of your work, once you get started and do a good job, you will have clients looking for you. One customer will refer their friends and pretty soon you will be all booked up and may have to hire help to deal with all the offers for work. Imagine getting paid $1000 or more for one night's work. This amount of money and more is possible in the photography business.
